
Types of special purpose thermocouples



chemical bath thermocouple
These thermocouple sensor assemblies are manufactured with an FEP-coated sheath, including a fused FEP tip, which resists attacks by corrosive and damaging chemical materials within the process being measured. They are ideal for use in chemical reactors, pickling operations, plating processes and acid bath applications.




quick disconnect type thermocouple
Quick Disconnect Thermocouples with Miniature Connectors are high quality, economical thermocouple probes.These ‘quick connection’ plugs are ideally suited for use with type K thermocouple wire where regular connections are required.The ‘quick connect’ plug can be attached to thermocouple wire in seconds and reduces waste caused by the loss of terminal covers.

Barewire or exposed junction thermocouple
Our exposed junction the two thermocouple conductors are joined to form the measuring junction and are exposed outside of the thermocouple sheath. This type of junction gives a very rapid response time to temperature, but it is unprotected from damage or attack. Exposed junctions are best suited in applications where the fastest response possible is required and there is a low risk (or consequence) of damage to the sensors measuring point.



Autoclave thermocouple
Autoclave Thermocouple are manufactured in many different configurations for multitude of applications. Diameters, lengths, sheath material, lead lengths and sensor material are just a few of the variables that go into determining the style of thermocouple when manufactured. The main determining factors of what type thermocouple needs to be used in a application is temperature, environment, response time and accuracy. The junction of the thermocouple can be grounded, ungrounded or exposed.




Duplex thermocouple
Duplex Thermocouples use two junctions in one sensor. Duplex Thermocouples are used in applications where downtime must be kept to a minimum, one sensor will be used until it reaches the end of its lifespan, then the wire can be quickly swapped round to the other junction and a replacement sensor can be ordered.

This construction provides an incredibly durable temperature sensor that can be adapted to a wide variety of applications. thermocouple connectors are protected from moisture and thermal shock and permits operation in harsh environments

Very High temperature(W-Rh) thermocouple
Type C (w-rh)Thermocouples are made from Tungsten Rhenium alloys and designed for extreme high temperatures up to 4,200 F (2315 C). The thermocouple materials must be utilized in a hydrogen, inert, or vacuum atmospheres to prevent failure from oxidation.
